This 1948 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith - completely re-upholstered, painted and with a new engine - was a gift to celebrate reaching one million record sales of their single Massachusetts.

Remember the 1980s pop group 5 Star? Siblings Stedman, Lorraine, Deniece, Doris and Delroy Pearson were known for their flamboyant image, matching costumes and choreographed dance routines. They had a fine taste in cars, too.

By 1967, John Lennon had bought and refurbished this Rolls, a £6,000 1965 Phantom V. He'd chosen a shrieking yellow, with zodiac sign on the roof and scrolls and flowers in a kaleidoscope of colour all over.
